Roopesh Aggarwal is an integral part of the Central City Opera Board of Directors, where he serves as the President, and is also a member of the Executive Committee. As Central City Opera embarks on the next phase of its growth and development, Roopesh is working with the company to enhance its financial and operating capabilities. In addition, he is working with the local government and partners to redevelop the town of Central City – a historic and preserved mining town built in the 1800s.
Founded in 1932, Central City Opera is the fifth oldest professional opera company in the country and is known for its exquisite world-class productions, competitive and robust young artist training program, and creative educational and community engagement activities. Its summer festival, only 35 miles west of Denver, takes place at 8,500 feet above sea level in the Colorado mountain town of Central City, where the company owns and maintains 28 Victorian-era properties, including the intimate 550 seat jewel-box theater built in 1878.
