Ankura Honored by National Immigrant Justice Center for Pro Bono Work

June 3, 2020

Colleagues –

I am pleased to share that thanks to the hard work and commitment of a few of our own, Ankura has been awarded the Human Rights Corporate Award by the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC). In a virtual livestream of the 21st Annual NIJC’s Human Rights Awards event last night, Senior Managing Director David Moes accepted the award on behalf of Ankura. This award is in recognition of the support and expert testimony provided by our firm at the request of NIJC’s pro bono partner Kirkland & Ellis during the trial of Garcia Ramirez et al. v. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement et al.

NIJC’s Human Rights Awards celebrate human rights champions and the contributions of business, philanthropic, and community leaders. The Human Rights Corporate Award in particular, honors NIJC’s business partners who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to advancing NIJC’s mission through their pro bono contributions in the past year.

As you all know, at Ankura, we strive to have our firm, our clients, and our communities be their best. This case was an opportunity for us to leverage our expertise to serve our community and we are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication of our people who were able to devote their time, energy, and talent to this matter while balancing other professional obligations. The award is a testament to our colleagues’ desire to give back to their communities and I hope you’ll join me in congratulating them on a job well done.

Sincerely,

Philip Daddona
