Sven Bueschgens

Sven began his career in the legal department at Telekom and worked there for almost 18 years in various functions, including project manager for the establishment of the new board of management department data privacy, legal affairs, and compliance. He was group compliance officer at BuyIn, a joint venture between Telekom and Orange and CompuGroup Medical, responsible for setting up the central compliance departments from scratch and for their ongoing development. The compliance management systems for which he was responsible were certified in accordance with IDW PS 980 in the areas of anti-corruption and anti-trust law, without any material findings and were rated as state of the art.

Sven’s professional experience includes:

• Establishment and development of entire compliance management systems of prevention, monitoring, and response.
• Investigation and sanction procedures, case handling, and criminal and labor law implications including cooperation with public prosecutors and regulators.
• Merger control and other anti-trust filings and notifications to EU Commission and National Competition Authorities.
• Efficient anti-corruption concept incorporating French, German, UK, and U.S. legal requirements.
• Support with ESG-related topics such as code of ethics, supplier code of conduct, and supply chain due diligence.
• Consulting with employees regarding the acceptance of invitations and gifts in alignment with reporting tools and monitoring.
• Data protection and privacy officer under German data protection law and implementation of GDPR requirements.
