Alistair Bruce is Chief Information Officer (CIO) and a Senior Vice President at Ankura, based in New York. As CIO, Alistair leads Ankura’s global technology organization, with responsibility for enterprise platforms, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data, and end-user services. He partners closely with business and functional leaders to ensure technology is reliable, secure, and aligned with Ankura’s strategic priorities, while enabling growth and innovation across the firm.

Experience

Alistair is a seasoned technology executive with more than two decades of experience leading complex, regulated, and global technology environments. He is known for building strong teams, improving execution, and translating technology capabilities into tangible business outcomes. His leadership philosophy emphasizes accountability, transparency, and collaboration, with a strong focus on how the business experiences technology teams.

Prior to joining Ankura, Alistair served as CIO for a large government and public sector professional services practice, where he led the technology organization supporting highly regulated U.S. federal and state clients. In that role, he oversaw the engineering and operation of secure technology platforms designed to meet stringent regulatory, compliance, and cybersecurity requirements.

Earlier in his career, Alistair held senior leadership roles across financial services and healthcare. His experience includes senior roles at Instinet, a Wall Street brokerage firm focused on electronic trading, market structure, and risk management. He then spent a significant portion of his career at a global healthcare company, where he served as Division CIO and later as General Manager of the Dental Software business. In these roles, he combined technology leadership with operational and commercial responsibility, driving platform modernization, improving service reliability, and supporting business growth.

Alistair began his professional career in the United Kingdom in the audit practice of a global professional services firm and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. His background as a chartered accountant informs a disciplined, risk-aware approach to technology leadership, particularly in governance, controls, and operational resilience.
