Ben Rollo

Ben has extensive experience in corporate and structured finance products having worked in a top investment bank providing feasibility and valuation advice on both new debt and equity positions for the bank, as well as distressed asset work out solutions.

Ben’s experience also includes working in the real estate funds management space, having been part of a small team which grew a retail and office portfolio to $950 million through acquisition and development in preparation for an eventual sale of the platform.

Ben has extensive experience in full property life cycle management having advised on property acquisitions, run the planning process, and managed the construction for many corporate and high net worth clients.

Ben’s professional experience includes:

• Heading up the precinct development and asset team of an iconic Sydney retail asset for a ASX listed property fund, managing both external consultants and internal teams.
• Advisory on valuations and due diligence of multiple distressed mortgage book acquisition and bids for a major investment bank.
• Asset and development manager of an unlisted real estate fund for Armada Funds that was subsequently acquired by major investment bank, Moelis.
• Leading consultants on planning applications for multiple commercial developments as representative of the principle developer, as well as managing and presenting to planning panels on development objections where new developments impact the commercials of clients’ real estate investments.
• Negotiated all construction, lease, and pre-lease contracts for developments at Armada Funds and at ASX listed property fund.
• Development and project managed all the property expansions within the Armada Funds remit.
• Managed, made compliant and prepared for sale, a portfolio of neighbourhood shopping centres on behalf of a third-party bank which had executed step in rights on defaulting borrowers.
• Director responsible for determining feasibility and capital stack structure of new finance deals, as well as working out existing poor performing real estate assets and loans to maximise returns for an investment bank.
• Lead the acquisition and divestment due diligence on passive and development real estate assets within the Armada portfolio with asset transaction values ranging from $40m to $197m, as well managing all annual external revaluations within the portfolio.
• Acted as a property advisor on numerous high end residential and commercial acquisitions, planning approvals and project managed their construction to completion for high-net-worth individuals.
