Dan’s professional experience:

• He guided a variety of regulatory entities in confidential cryptocurrency-related investigations involving digital asset staking and lending protocols, decentralized application and smart contract code review, on-chain trading pattern analysis, and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations. Dan also led efforts to automate the aggregation and analysis of on-chain and exchange trading data in support of investigations related to cryptocurrency market manipulation.
• Assisted the CFO of a professional sports franchise generating $0.5 billion in annual revenue in a review of comprehensive period-end financial close procedures, stadium concessions revenue reporting, and merchandise inventory reporting.
• Dan also assisted a major Telecom company in rebuilding the cost of revenue reporting as a result of an SEC investigation and the requirement to restate financials for three years. He managed a team of professionals in the acquisition of data from multiple disparate systems, analysis, and development of complex models across multiple systems to drive restatement of close to $1 billion in costs. Simultaneously, Dan drove the carve-out of an entity valued at $2 billion from existing systems to facilitate the setup of the carved-out entity.
• He supported the SIPA Trustee in the investigation and unraveling of the multi-billion dollar Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme — the largest such fraud in history. In his role, Dan analyzed large transactional and market data sets to uncover financial red flags ultimately leveraged to aid recovery efforts.
• Led a major healthcare provider in a restatement of four years of financial reporting, including accounts payable reconciliation via automated tracing of invoices to relevant expense and asset journal activity.
• Dan aided in Chapter 11 bankruptcy preparation for a large financial institution specializing in structured settlements. He also developed a 13-week rolling liquidity reporting and forecasting tool to provide increased visibility into daily cash availability and improved decision-making. Dan further delivered a process to automate reporting from over 70 bank accounts and the clients’ ERP focusing on daily cash, payables, and bankruptcy-required reporting.
• Assisted a private equity firm and chief restructuring officer in the carve-out and subsequent merger of two portfolio companies, including the establishment of entity-specific data strategy and migration of HR, CRM, and financial data.
• Aided in the expedited settlement of litigations alleging the historical mismanagement of trust accounts by identifying and analyzing transactional data and compiling financial models.
• As part of a SIPC liquidation of a failed broker-dealer, reconciled incomplete trading activity across multiple disparate systems to support individual claim reconciliation.
• Aided in the investigation, insurance claim preparation, and supporting analytics related to a multimillion-dollar instance of employee theft for a Fortune 150 retailer.
• Assisted counsel of a large global bank by analyzing fund composition and other characteristics pertinent to its securities lending program to defend against a potential class action lawsuit.
• Designed and facilitated ongoing maintenance of business intelligence dashboards used to monitor client-defined key performance indicators for a for-profit university.
