Dan Torpey
Senior Managing Director
Dan is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience guiding companies through complex situations. His experience encompasses a wide range of expertise, including financial statement audits and restatements, fraud investigations, insurance claims and financial due diligence.
Experience
Dan has been an expert in a variety of commercial insurance and reinsurance disputes, including multiple billion-dollar claims, and he has provided testimony in state, federal and international jurisdictions. Dan has also helped build and evaluate corporate compliance programs for Fortune 1000 companies.
Dan is currently a board member and the audit committee chair for MDB Capital Holdings Inc., a NASDAQ Public Venture firm. Prior to that role Dan recently retired as a partner with Ernst & Young, where he served in multiple leadership roles during his tenure including: the US Leader for the Investigations & Compliance, Americas Leader for Forensic Technology & Discovery, and Insurance Claim Services.
Dan is a Certified ARIAS·US Reinsurance and Insurance Arbitrator and is the lead contributing author of The Business Interruption Book: Coverage, Claims and Recovery National Underwriter.
