Riley Bergmann is a Managing Director at Ankura based in Nashville. She has 14 years of experience specializing in strategic planning, process optimization, and program development/management. With a particular focus on the healthcare space, her diverse background has allowed her to drive and execute many large projects by turning stakeholders’ thoughts into actions. Riley’s strategic planning, process optimization, and program management experience includes:

  • Led Program Management Office (PMO) that encompassed over 100 projects and 35 employees across departments. Responsible for developing standard operating procedures and process improvement efforts across enterprise. Responsible for PMO governance, processes, and team development.
  • Designed and executed programs/projects to standardize operations across enterprise (over 10,500 employees), including job functions/descriptions, pay plans, learning journeys, and supporting IT initiatives. Managed governance structure, facilitated design sessions, and developed executive deliverables for presentation to CEO and board of directors.
  • Led integration efforts for multiple hospital acquisitions across a Fortune 100 company. Ensured the success of integration activities across 65 corporate departments by facilitating important discussions with key leaders to gain consensus and tracking progress to reach enterprise goals.
  • Developed and executed key performance indicators for a talent acquisition department across a large health system. Deployed a performance tracking tool to be utilized against a two-year growth and development plan.
  • Provided program development efforts to advance anesthesia services across a large health system. Led Lean Six Sigma process improvement projects with 14 different corporate departments to improve support services and better serve the field.
  • Facilitated strategic planning sessions with executive leadership that aided in the development of a clinical agenda for a large health system. Hosted enterprise-wide conference calls, webinars, and office hours to present the clinical agenda and guide hospital administrators and/or providers as needed.
  • Implemented electronic health record program at a large health system and managed all aspects of the project lifecycle. Partnered with clinical, financial, and operational departments within the organization to create strategic alignment across all workstreams. Developed various council structures to integrate work efforts prior to hospital deployment.
  • Led the clinical integration efforts for a large healthcare acquisition. Managed a team of business analysts to review current state processes and interview various stakeholders across the organization. Developed future state operating model and provided risk mitigation strategies.
  • Managed programs in advancing safety science and elimination of harm for a large health system; led the day-to-day success of deliverables and initiatives that support effective execution of the patient safety programs.
  • Created an operations committee structure for a large health system and managed the alignment between clinical leaders and corporate stakeholders. Served as point of contact to support success of all initiative workstreams and managed smaller cohorts to advance the system agenda.
  • Deployed operating room implant scanning software to multiple hospital systems. Led the entire change management process to new technology and created an ongoing status monitoring report.
  • Led process redesign for various clinical care pathways. Supported the pathway development by working with top performing providers on identifying the current state processes as well as areas of opportunity for improvement. Documented the redesign appropriately and trained the field on new care pathway protocols through hosting conferences and webinars.
  • Provided project management for financial planning portfolio development by creating accountability for work efforts, monitoring status updates, and identifying risk to the company.
  • Managed a team of account managers and client support analysts in the expansion of various healthcare technologies with the goal of improving quality of care through provider documentation. Supported the technical integration aspect of the implementation related efforts and communicated directly with the executive leadership team. Ran all leadership report outs and developed the ongoing status monitoring process.
  • Served as program manager to clinical stakeholders for a safety improvement program at a large healthcare corporation. Managed all aspects of program development and created the status reporting process.
