He is a chartered accountant with over 15 years of experience, and is instructed as a valuation and accounting expert in international disputes. He has experience of the London Court of International Arbitration, International Chamber of Commerce, International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, United Nations Commission on International Trade Law, United Kingdom High Court, Upper Tax Tribunal, Grand Court of Cayman, and Singapore High Court.

Rob’s engagements most commonly include the quantification of economic damages, through the valuation of businesses and shares, post-completion mergers abd acquisitions (M&A) accounting and valuation issues, and the assessments of lost profits and wasted costs.

Rob’s experience is primarily across the following types of expert engagements:

• Valuation and accounting post-completion M&A disputes and shareholder disputes

Valuation and Quantification of Damages Engagements

• Prepared valuations and the quantification of damages relating to a mining and trading company in connection with a High Court litigation.
• Prepared an expert report on the damages arising from a real estate development in West Asia, in connection with an investor-state ICSID arbitration.
• Prepared an expert report on the value of debt within a manufacturing and distribution company, in connection with a High Court claim.

Accounting and Other Finance-Related Engagements

• Prepared an expert determination in connection with an earnout dispute arising from an M&A transaction in the telecoms sector. There were over 40 items in dispute between the parties.
• Prepared an expert report on accounting issues of a logistics company pursuant to a sales and purchase agreement in an M&A dispute in connection with an arbitration.
• Provided accounting advice and valuation and quantification of damages in relation to a post-completion M&A dispute in the financial services sector.
