Ryan Tabor is a Senior Managing Director at Ankura, based in Nashville, with 25 years of experience leading transformations, transactions, and performance improvement initiatives. He advises clients on carve-outs and separations, post-merger integrations, transformation management, and PMO/TMO leadership for enterprise change initiatives. Drawing on both consulting and executive operating experience, Ryan is frequently called upon to lead complex initiatives requiring alignment across stakeholders, business functions, and organizations. Known for bringing structure and momentum to high-stakes engagements, he leads multidisciplinary teams while navigating evolving risks and priorities.

Experience

Ryan brings leadership experience across public companies, private businesses, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations. Prior to consulting, he served as COO of a rapidly growing food manufacturing and direct-sales company and held leadership roles supporting acquisition integration, transformation, and growth initiatives. That operating experience enables Ryan to bridge strategy and execution, helping leadership teams navigate complexity, align stakeholders, and deliver enterprise change.

Ryan’s professional experience includes:

  • Buy-Side Carve-Out and NewCo Stand-Up, CPG: Led the carve-out and stand-up of a fully independent natural foods company following a $100 million PE-backed acquisition from a Fortune 500 parent, directing Day 1 readiness, cross-functional cutover, a TSA framework spanning over 30 enterprise services, and post-close stabilization; achieved a disruption-free close and advanced the exit of over 20 TSA services.
  • Federal Funds Program Office, Commonwealth Government: Led strategy and execution for a $4.67 billion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act and American Rescue Plan program office, coordinating multiple governor-defined initiatives to accelerate fund deployment, strengthen compliance, and improve executive oversight.
  • Acquisitions Analysis and Integration, Multiple Clients: Led efforts to evaluate technology and processes of potential targets to identify prospective synergies, gaps, and needs and then guided the planning and integration of business and information systems of acquired companies.
  • Due Diligence Assessments, Healthcare System: Led the development and execution of a cross-functional technology due diligence methodology for over 200 physician practices targeted for acquisition by a multi-billion-dollar healthcare company. Coordinated assessments spanning technology, clinical integration, infrastructure, security, regulatory compliance, contracts, and staffing to identify acquisition and integration risks, improve cross-functional decision-making, and establish a repeatable client-owned methodology for future transactions.
  • Agency Reorganization and Optimization, Commonwealth Government and Department of Health: Led a multi-year transformation spanning 24 sub-entities, three public hospitals, and affiliated rehabilitation, behavioral health, and outpatient facilities; established integration governance, directed cross-functional consolidation and operational optimization, and identified up to $26 million in potential annual savings through revenue-cycle improvements and service-line consolidation.
  • Enterprise Process Optimization, Healthcare Services: Served as Interim Director of Business Process Optimization for a national healthcare services organization, leading the enterprise portfolio and advising teams on execution. Designed and implemented an enterprise performance dashboard and redesigned portfolio management, business analysis, and product support frameworks to strengthen governance and delivery.
  • Transformation Management and Platform Modernization, Healthcare Purchasing Group: Led the establishment of a transformation capability for a $30 billion healthcare group purchasing organization and directed a human-centered modernization of its customer-facing application portfolio, using insights from over 60 customer interviews and job-shadowing sessions to align business and IT around a shared product vision and roadmap, strengthen product-management capabilities, and guide implementation of new product-management tools.
  • Business Continuity Planning, Hospital Management Company: Led the design and implementation of a centralized enterprise preparedness and emergency-response capability deployed across over 175 sites in more than 20 states, establishing a consistent operating model for coordinating preparedness, escalation, and response across a geographically dispersed organization.
  • Strategic Process Assessment for PSA Implementation Readiness, Healthcare Services: Led an enterprise-wide assessment across five operating units to prepare for implementation of a professional services automation platform; identified standardization and efficiency opportunities across seven core process domains, defined business and integration requirements, and led the evaluation of vendors and implementation scenarios serving up to 500 users.
  • Transformation Management, Correctional Care Healthcare Service Provider: Led a portfolio of enterprise process and technology transformations for a $1 billion national correctional healthcare provider, including onboarding and migration of major customer accounts, implementation of risk and document management platforms, development of a telehealth deployment strategy, and multiple human resources transformation initiatives.
  • Talent Management Program, National Healthcare Services Company: Led the design and implementation of an enterprise talent strategy to recruit, develop, and retain medical professionals and executives, including a centralized national recruiting capability, university partnerships, talent assessments, vendor management, and an employee referral program.
  • Enterprise Education and Change, Health System: Provided strategic and change leadership for the switch to ICD-10 coding. Established an education center of excellence and led the education, communications, governance, and reporting functions supporting an enterprise ICD-10 transition affecting more than 200,000 learners.
  • Strategic Planning, Multiple Clients: Guided leadership teams through strategic planning efforts such as 100-day post-acquisition planning, initiative prioritization and decision-making, 3-5 year strategic plan and roadmap development, growth strategy development, strategic partnership design, and process optimization.
  • Solution and Vendor Evaluation and Implementation, Multiple Clients: Led various efforts to create specialty software solutions, including: salesforce automation for an international executive recruitment organization and national consulting firm; enterprise resource planning and materials management for a fast-growing manufacturer; customer relationship management for a national fundraising organization and publisher; professional service administration for a healthcare professional-services firm; learning management system for a national healthcare services organization; and a knowledge management system for a direct sales and national healthcare services organization.
  • Technology and Business Assessments, Multiple Clients: Facilitated meetings at all levels within organizations to determine current and future needs, developing comprehensive business requirements and detailed functional specifications while working with both stakeholders and software developers.
