Terri D. Nance is a Senior Director at Ankura, based in the Nashville office. She is a strong leader with extensive experience driving and managing complex mission-critical projects that require both business and technical expertise. Terri has served in executive and senior leadership roles, as well as, program and project management functions. She is effective at building and leading teams to a high-performance state. Her high energy and quiet fortitude provides a platform from which she motivates teams to success.

Experience

She has led the implementation of many comprehensive IT solutions ranging across all spectrums of the buy, build, and hybrid approaches. Terri has led transformative initiatives where her focus was specific on business planning and strategy development at the c-levels.

She has expertise in both waterfall and agile project management methodologies and can seamlessly move from one approach to the other depending on nature of the work and the client’s organization.

Terri’s industry experiences span across both provider and payer healthcare settings, distribution, banking, manufacturing, auto, and aviation. This cross-sector knowledge enables her to transfer best practices seen in other industries to her clients.

Terri’s professional experience includes:

  • Organizational Transformation, Aviation Company: Led program of over 100 initiatives and/or projects. Goal was to reduce selling, general, and adminsitrative (SG&A) expenses by $22.6 million annually. Projects ranged from process improvements/automation, procurement efficiencies, workforce reduction, and vendor rationalization. Facilitated process to find additional SG&A saving opportunities to bridge budget gaps.
  • Interim Assistant Vice President, Healthcare-Physician Services Group: Led team in the implementation of electronic medical record (EMR), practice management, and health records for physician practices nationwide.
  • Quality Assurance Facilitation, Manufacturing Company: Facilitate QA process for a very large order to cash SAP implementation through three integration AT and regression cycles.
    Charge Entry/Clinical Documentation Software Implementation, Healthcare Hospitalist Company: Provided organizational leadership in the implementation of a mobile charge entry and clinical documentation system for use in the inpatient environment leveraging athenahealth practice management system for billing. Facilitated the cross departmental process for defining and prioritizing enhancement requirements for mobility applications. Led provider training process that included the development of online user documentation, 1:1 training, and WebEx based training modules.
  • Provider Enrollment Optimization, Healthcare Hospitalist Company: Led cross-functional client team to develop and optimize a consistent approach to health plan provider enrollment in over 35 states including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial health plans to minimize cash delays and denials related to enrollment. Designed and developed workflow tools, document management system, reporting/monitoring dashboards, and integration with athenahealth workflow tools to support the timely attestation of 1,400 healthcare providers and submission to 35 state Medicaid offices in accordance with each state’s requirements. Project resulted in $6 million in additional, unplanned revenue.
  • Data Audit Implementation, Healthcare Medicare Supplement Company: Led implementation of an audit process for data imports to meet Medicare regulatory requirements. Standardized process for all incoming data feeds from external vendors for multiple lines of business which resulted in significant improvement in regulatory scores and improved performance measures.
  • Program Management Workflow Process, Distribution Company: Designed and implemented a web-based software solution to manage IT change requests for large distribution firm to enable workflow and approval process into the application to ensure CEO-level oversight.
  • IT Project Tracking System, Distribution Company: Led team in the design and implementation of data warehousing and business intelligence software solution to compute and measure fulfillment rates with ability to drill down into actionable level detail.
  • Data Warehouse Implementation, Medicare Advantage Company: Led team in the design and development of a data warehouse to integrate multiple legacy healthcare claims processing systems including McKesson-based authorization system and hundreds of external and internal interfaces.
  • Pharmacy Claims Systems Integration, Medicare Advantage Company: Led the design, build, and implementation of pharmacy claims system and data interfaces.
  • Health Care IT Leadership, Healthcare Services Provider: Led multiple projects within company’s PMO. Projects included software implementation, data integration, data warehousing, and reporting.
  • Enterprise Analysis and Reporting Leadership, Healthcare Overpayment and Recovery Company: Managed team of data analysts charged with enterprise reporting for five companies and multiple initiatives including but not limited to healthcare related overpayment recovery, Medicare Advantage, and product distribution.
