Ankura Adds Four Senior Professionals to New York Office

May 24, 2016, New York, NY – Ankura Consulting Group (Ankura), a business advisory and expert services firm, announced today the appointment of Anthony Milazzo, Javier Alvarez, Elias Psyllos and Jonathan Zambelli to the firm’s New York office.
Mr. Anthony Milazzo joins Ankura as Senior Managing Director with more than 22 years of accounting and auditing experience. He is responsible for leading large-scale forensic accounting engagements including internal investigations, disputes and general accounting advisory matters, including some well publicized Ponzi scheme matters. He provides forensic accounting litigation support including accounting research, expert reports, testimony and advisory services to counsel. He also provides technical accounting advisory services including SEC filing restatement matters. Mr. Milazzo has prior experience serving as the Corporate Controller of a software company and as the CFO of a start-up dot-com. He worked at KPMG in their Assurance and Forensic practices. For the past 13 years, Mr. Milazzo has focused on forensic accounting with FTI Consulting most recently as Senior Managing Director.
Mr. Javier Alvarez joins Ankura as Managing Director with more than 14 years of experience in auditing, forensic accounting and litigation consulting. He has extensive international experience with large-scale financial investigations and litigation assignments including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) related matters and receiverships. He has also provided accounting and consulting services to clients across a wide range of industries, including financial services, energy, banking, pharmaceutical, advertising, manufacturing, retail and others. Mr. Alvarez provides forensic accounting litigation support including accounting research, expert reports and advisory services to counsel. Mr. Alvarez was part of the Forensic and Investigative Accounting practice at Kroll and began his career at Deloitte where he was part of both Litigation & Dispute Consulting and Auditing practices. He was most recently with FTI Consulting.
Mr. Elias Psyllos joins Ankura as Managing Director, and has more than 10 years of experience in professional services, strategy, and project management. Over the last eight years, his experience has focused on a variety of forensic and litigation consulting engagements, including corporate internal investigations, eDiscoveryrelated matters, preservation of electronic data, computer forensics investigations, and mobile forensic investigations. He provides advice, and project management in the preservation and collection of all paper and electronically stored information (ESI) identified as part of litigation and non-litigation related discovery. Mr. Psyllos was most recently with DTI.
Mr. Jonathan Zambelli joins Ankura as Managing Director with more than 10 years of experience in corporate finance and forensic investigations. He has represented public and private clients in both in-court and out-of court restructurings, monitorships, and fraud investigations in a diverse range of industries, including telecommunications; broadcasting; hospitality; restaurants; healthcare; retail; and financial services. Mr. Zambelli has worked on internal and SEC investigations related to financial and securities fraud, embezzlement, and circumvention of internal controls. He was most recently a Senior Director at FTI Consulting.
