Geraint Thomas is a Senior Managing Director at Ankura based in Dubai. He has over 23 years of experience working with boards, management teams, companies, and stakeholders in turnaround, transformation, and restructuring situations.
Experience
Geraint is an experienced operating partner, investment director, board member, chief restructuring officer, and chief financial officer who collaborates with and leads organizations when goals need to be converted to action.
Working across a wide range of industries, including aviation, construction, manufacturing, financial services, and real estate, Geraint has held senior roles in the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, growing healthy businesses and restructuring stressed companies.
Prior to joining Ankura, Geraint spent four years at one of the Middle East’s largest holding companies as an investment director overseeing the aviation, logistics, and tourism sector and as an executive director leading the establishment of a restructuring function. Prior to that, he worked at a global restructuring firm in Dubai and at a global consulting firm in London, leading turnaround, transformation, and restructuring programs both as an advisor and interim manager.

- Chief Restructuring Officer (Interim) at Chalmers Engineering (UAE), a diversified engineering organization providing turnkey solutions to the marine and oil and gas industries.
- Board Member of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, a low-cost airline based at Abu Dhabi International Airport.
- Board Member of Silal, established in 2020 in Abu Dhabi to maximize local food produce and secure strategic food reserves for the UAE.
