Internal Review of China Operations
Conducted a third-party distributor compliance review to assess prior employee misconduct involving alleged kickbacks provided to healthcare practitioners, in public hospitals in China. Completed virtual and on-site interviews, onsite document inspection, transactional sample testing, and data analysis. As a result, we identified red-flag scenarios including sponsored travel, business meals and favours, provision of cash-in-kind/gifts to healthcare practitioners and hospitals, and inadequacy and inaccuracy of distributors’ books and records. Our findings informed the client’s decisions regarding its distributor relationships.

Forensic Analysis Related to Commercial Dispute
We analyzed allegations made against the client in a dispute regarding allegedly unfulfilled orders. This project entailed analysis of the cosmetic industry across APAC and Greater China. As a result of our analysis, we provided a report for counsel with an estimate of the alleged losses. Our work contributed meaningfully to the case, and the matter was settled to the client’s satisfaction.
