Experience
Dan’s professional experience includes:
- Project Management, Healthcare Organization: Led the Office365 email migration effort of over 10,000 mailboxes and related messaging resources from the Office365 tenant of an acquired organization to the tenant of the parent organization. Managed the activities of the internal IT teams of both organizations alongside external venders and solution partners. Coordinated comprehensive user training and communication activities that were directed to all levels of the organization including executives, management, finance, the end user community, and external stakeholders. The email migration effort was completed successfully while maintaining a stable messaging environment and within the required timeline and budget.
- Program Management, Logistics Organization: Managed the IT infrastructure implementation supporting many large national distribution centers across the country including the organization’s flag ship distribution center in Nashville. Was responsible for budgeting, acquiring, and implementing all technology resources including advanced camera surveillance systems to monitor the client’s product more extensively than was previously available. Coordinated the installation of the centers’ IT infrastructure that involved circuit delivery, server installations, networking/cabling requirements, power, and environmental systems.
- Contract Management & Negotiation, Logistics Organization: The organization contracted with a new point-of-use hardware vendor to equip the delivery personnel with improved scanning devices and capability. The company required a reevaluation of their cellular partner with the primary goal of reducing monthly expenditures. Gathered requirements from users, management, finance, and other stakeholders, and developed the RFP. Evaluated mobile partner solutions and developed a method for selecting the partner that satisfied the organization’s needs. The result was a negotiated cellular service contract that met the needs of stakeholders and resulted in a 70% reduction in monthly spend.
- Project Management, Logistics Organization: Led the multi-year migration of the organization’s mobile scanning platform to a more agile, BYOD program allowing the company to significantly reduce their requirement to purchase, track, and maintain aging scanning devices for their drivers and delivery team. Established several pilot programs to gather feedback from the field and distribution center managers to provide continuous feedback and process improvements. Planned and executed the successful roll out the final solution to over 3,000 individual drivers and more than 40 distribution centers.
- Business Analytics, Strategic Planning and Sustainability Solution: Due to substantial growth within a very short time frame, the organization required a more scalable, affordable, and effective IT support solution to service the increased number of employees that spanned the globe. Evaluated, selected, and contracted with third party technology support services that provided 24/7 availability while substantially improving access to highly trained subject matter experts which, additionally, freed the organization’s internal technology staff members of their previous day-to-day support duties allowing them to concentrate on the organization’s infrastructure.
- Project Management, System Integration: Due to an acquisition, the parent organization required the migration of two independent accounting systems to a single, effective, and scalable finance and accounting solution. Working with the independent finance and IT teams from each organization alongside third-party solution providers, successfully coordinated activities to merge all accounting functionality and data into a single, unified solution with no discernable downtime or impact to either organization.
- Business Analytics, Remote Workforce: Previously, the organization’s workforce worked out of a few local, physical offices but a shift in the company’s products and solutions increasingly relied on employees that required the ability to work remotely at client sites, in home offices, or while traveling. Identified all required software and technology resources that needed to shift from a central support orientation to solutions that provided equal, or improved, functionality from anywhere in the world. Coordinated with all internal teams, management, and software vendors to migrate legacy systems and software to cloud-based software solutions. The result was that the company was able to recruit and retain top talent from anywhere in the country while substantially improving on the availability and feature sets of the previously installed systems.
