Kara Barnes is a Managing Director at Ankura, based in Washington, DC. Prior to joining Ankura, Kara was a director within Navigant’s disputes, forensics & legal technology (DFLT) segment. She led the discovery processing/hosting group for the US and India based teams. Under Kara’s direction, the group supported electronic discovery related requests for matters including regulatory investigations, antitrust litigations, corporate internal reviews, and multiple matters for large corporate banking, finance, and telecommunications clients.
Experience
Kara has 28 years of experience providing litigation support solutions to law firms and corporate legal departments and has experience in all phases of the discovery process. In addition to her expertise in electronic discovery, she has managed hundreds of document coding and imaging projects in complex litigation from collection through to hosting and production.
Before joining Navigant, Kara was the vice president of project management and production for Cricket Technologies a privately held electronic discovery provider. She directed staff in project management, production and IT functions, managed key client projects, performed business development, supported executive stakeholders to define company objectives and priorities, managed the hosted review platform, and provided technical support to the product development team.
Kara previously held senior litigation project management positions at Litigation Systems Corporation, Uniscribe Professional Services, and Aspen Systems Corporation.
