Michael Miller

Mike’s healthcare management experience includes hospitals, long-term acute care hospitals, skilled nursing, rehabilitative units, psychiatric units, ambulatory care clinics, and durable medical equipment. Mike is an experienced chief executive officer, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer at the corporate, regional, and local levels. Mike’s background includes not-for-profit and for-profit arenas, including leadership in a large publicly traded hospital corporation and in academic medical centers.

Mike has expertise in helping businesses attain a position of strategic, operational, and financial stability in advisory, CRO, or interim management roles. His operational expertise is focused on leading and operating an efficient organization in a fiscally responsible manner, with a strong emphasis on clinical quality, patient satisfaction, and physician partnering.

Mike’s professional experience includes:

• Retained as chief restructuring officer for a physician-owned for-profit surgical specialty hospital prior to its filing chapter 11 bankruptcy. Guided the organization through the bankruptcy process, and sold the hospital operations in a 363 sale.
• Interim CEO and deputy CRO for a nationally recognized academic medical center hospital that achieved a multimillion-dollar financial improvement over a 28-month period.
• Retained by a hospital system as interim CEO to provide turnaround management for operational and state/federal regulatory compliance.
• Prior to entering the field of healthcare provider industry consulting, Mike gained industry experience including positions such as vice president of Group Operations for Community Health Systems, CEO of two acute-care hospitals for IASIS Healthcare, CEO of a three-hospital (two acute-care and one psychiatric care) market for HCA, and CFO of a hospital (acute-care, rehabilitation, and psychiatric distinct-part hospital) in Texas.
