Representative Data Strategy and Privacy Program Engagements
- Expert Rebuttal and Technical Analysis Engagement: Retained by defense counsel representing a global data and analytics provider in whistleblower litigation involving allegations of unlawful data acquisition, data use, and privacy compliance. Conducted an independent technical evaluation of data acquisition methodologies, dealership access models, contractual data-use practices, cybersecurity controls, privacy governance, and applicable industry standards to assess the validity of opposing expert opinions. Developed defensible technical analyses translating data architecture, operational practices, and regulatory frameworks into findings supporting expert rebuttal, deposition preparation, and trial strategy.
- Proactive Tracking Technology Governance Engagement: Led the design and implementation of a proactive tracking‑technology governance framework, including intake, review, and approval processes, stakeholder coordination workflows, and risk‑based controls. Developed a scalable playbook, implemented cookie banners and preference centers, and supported proper technical deployment and validation across client web properties.
- Data and AI Governance Engagement: Retained by a global sports media organization to assess data and AI governance practices related to systems processing sensitive player data. Conducted gap analysis across data, engineering, security, and legal functions. Delivered findings and remediation recommendations to the Chief Privacy Officer and senior stakeholders and facilitated planning sessions to operationalize improvements.
- Data Use Validation Engagement: Conducted a technical and contractual review for a health data client using anonymized health data that was no longer classified as patient health information following an anonymization process. Audited data use agreements across customer relationships and validated customer-side data enrichment practices within client systems to assess whether downstream use remained consistent with contractual restrictions. Translated legal and contractual requirements into system-level validation criteria, evaluated data flows and enrichment logic, and supported factual analysis regarding whether customer implementations could invalidate agreed data-use limitations.
- Privacy Program Modernization Engagement: Retained by one of the largest U.S. automobile manufacturers to work directly with the head of privacy on modernizing and operationalizing the enterprise privacy program.
