Rick Conlin

Rick has more than 20 years of experience building and scaling consulting and solutions businesses, leading complex transformation programs, and delivering measurable financial and operational outcomes for healthcare providers, payers, and investors. He has extensive experience helping organizations improve operating performance, optimize supply chain and cost structures, enhance clinical and business operations, and accelerate enterprise-wide transformation.

Prior to joining Ankura, Rick served as Partner and Practice Director at a boutique consulting firm, where he led the Healthcare Provider segment and was responsible for commercial strategy, business development, and operational execution. Following the company’s acquisition by a global professional services firm, he served as the firm’s Healthcare Provider Operations practice lead with a focus on AI-enabled transformation and innovation. During his tenure, he developed and managed a multimillion-dollar consulting pipeline, advised private equity operating partners and portfolio companies, and led global teams supporting healthcare transformation initiatives.

Previously, Rick founded and led a national healthcare cost and operations consulting practice, helping provider organizations improve performance, optimize spending, and achieve sustainable operational efficiencies. In that role, he launched and scaled provider finance, supply chain, and operations consulting offerings that collectively managed more than $3 billion in client spend initiatives and delivered over $250 million in bottom-line client impact, all while maintaining or improving clinical results.

Rick has helped build and scale multiple nationally recognized management consulting practices, driving significant growth and delivering transformative results for clients across both commercial and public sector organizations. Prior to his consulting career, Rick served as a Naval Reactors officer in the U.S. Navy, where he managed more than $2 billion in strategic program budgets supporting critical nuclear infrastructure.

A recognized thought leader, Rick has been featured in publications including The Wall Street Journal, Modern Healthcare, and Healthcare Finance. He is a frequent advisor to healthcare executives, private equity investors, and boards of directors on growth strategy, operational excellence, cost transformation, and technology-enabled performance improvement.
