Scott Margolis

Scott supports client executives, including chief officers of data, compliance, risk, privacy, and information, with building scalable global governance and regulatory compliance programs while enabling the supporting technology capabilities. His expertise spans compliance and risk, defensible disposition, data stewardship, and valuation and monetization of data.

Scott’s experience includes a deep industry background in financial services, transportation and automotive, logistics, and the energy complex. He works closely with clients to develop programs that simultaneously enhance data operations and derive value, reduce risk, and support compliance activities. His approach focuses on delivering holistic programs that drive business growth in the face of complex data and growth challenges.

Prior to joining Ankura, Scott was Managing Director of data governance, privacy compliance, and technology enablement at Big Four firms for more than 12 years. He also oversaw financial services security and data compliance and was previously Senior Vice President, Compliance Executive at one of the largest global money center banks in the world.

Scott has two U.S. patents for processes and technologies supporting global data transfers. He also holds numerous copyrights for bespoke software he has developed.
