Craig specializes in developing and implementing practical strategies that create value for healthcare systems through enhanced strategic, market, operational, and financial positioning.  Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with leading organizations from across the industry, from academic medical centers and government healthcare providers to complex healthcare systems and private medical groups. His clients have included Mount Sinai Health System in New York City; Northwell Health, affiliated with New York’s Hofstra University; the Veterans Health Administration, the nation’s largest healthcare system; UC Davis Health in Sacramento, California; Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia; and Catholic Healthcare Initiatives, which operates in 17 states.

He previously was a senior director in FTI Consulting’s health solutions practice, where he spearheaded multiple strategic, business development, and performance optimization initiatives involving healthcare strategy, operations, and physician practice improvement.

Craig began his career as an executive in the system strategic planning and medical group departments of BJC Healthcare in Saint Louis, Missouri. He went on to operational leadership roles at Ascension Healthcare in Indianapolis, Indiana, and at Rockford Health in Illinois. He transitioned to consulting when he joined Tiber Group/Navigant and, later, ECG Management Consultants, where he focused on healthcare strategy, performance improvement, physician practices, and service-line development.

    • Facilitating the development of strategic, value-based care, and service-line plans for many of the country’s largest healthcare systems, including BJC Saint Louis and Norton Healthcare in Louisville, Kentucky.
    • Leading the redesign of operations at several top healthcare systems and their affiliated medical centers, such as those at Mt. Sinai, the University of Chicago, and Catholic Health Initiatives. These efforts resulted in million-dollar savings or helped achieve millions in additional revenue.
    • Assessing physician strategies, alignment, and practices at multiple leading healthcare organizations – UC Davis Health, GW Medical Faculty Associates, and Covenant Health among them – that resulted in improvements to overall healthcare delivery, experience, and patient access.
    • Serving in interim C-suite roles at groups including PeaceHealth and Ascension Health, guiding operations to improved strategic positioning in the market and better financial results.
    • Advising top academic medical centers such as the University of Chicago and Northwell Health on funds flow, governance, community partnerships, physicians’ time outside clinical practice, and other issues unique to their environment.
