Daniel L. Franklin is a Managing Director at Ankura based in San Francisco. With more than 14 years of heavy construction experience, he is an expert in project controls (schedule and cost management), change management, delay analyses, disruption and loss of productivity analyses, and quantum damage analyses. Dan has gained his expertise through roles in engineering, construction, contracts and procurement, project controls, and project management working in North America, Africa, and Australia for both a leading global construction contractor and as a consultant.  He has wide-ranging industry experience which include; oil, gas, and chemical, power (nuclear, combined-cycle, biomass, hydro-electric, and transmission lines), heavy civil (dams, tunnels, highways, and rail/rapid-transit), processing facilities, high rise construction (office, residential, and share-use), hospitals, hazardous waste remediation facilities, and foreign government infrastructure master planning projects.

Experience

Dan’s professional experience includes:

  • Quantum / Damages Analysis: Thoroughly experienced in forensic quantum/damages analyses and litigation support to owners, contractors, and attorneys on delay, disruption, and other impact events. Strong knowledge of cost tracking, construction methods, and change management.
  • Disruption and Loss of Productivity Analysis: Thoroughly experienced in performing lost labor productivity analyses and trend analyses of productivity, performance, and efficiency. Performs varying analyses to determine lost efficiency and/or cumulative impact of scope changes, changes in means and methods, work schedules, and weather.
  • Schedule Delay Analysis: Provides schedule/delay analyses and litigation support to owners, contractors, and attorneys on delay and disruption issues.
  • Scheduling and Project Controls: Provides consultant services in project controls, scheduling, cost management, cost forecasting, change management, and construction management for owners, contractors, developers, and government organizations. Strong knowledge of both construction methods, and software techniques.
