Fernando Alfaro is a Senior Director at Ankura specializing in financial and operational transformation. He has over 20 years of consulting experience including international assignments. He has served as interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and interim Chief Operating Officer (COO) in middle cap companies.

    He has broad industry experience including automobile, trucking, manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, healthcare, and leisure. Fernando’s experience and skills are derived from a variety of engagements assisting CEO’s and CFO’s with interim management, liquidity enhancement, cost control, system implementation, reporting, cost accounting analyses, and organizational development.

    He has experience with both public and private equity portfolio companies. Fernando believes in partnering with customers to instill a cash culture and promote value creation for all stakeholders. Fernando has worked in foreign locations including Mexico and Europe.

    Fernando’s professional experience includes:

    • Manufacturing Company: served as interim CFO. Developed the finance and accounting function; successfully negotiated the increase of the revolver line of credit; and, implemented a new ERP system at all six manufacturing facilities.
    • Healthcare Company: served as interim CFO during the duration of selling the assets of a multi-center imaging private equity company to a major hospital in Houston, TX.
    • Oil and Gas Company: served as interim CFO during Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings preparing schedules, reports, and assisting in the Disclosure Statement and Plan of Reorganization.
    • IT Services: produced 13 week cash flow models, budgets, and financial projections for three private equity portfolio companies.
    • Automobile Company: assisted a tier 1 auto manufacturer in developing reporting and financial projections that served to renegotiate their debt.
    • Construction Company: assisted the CEO and CFO of a private equity owned electric construction company to revamp their operational and financial reporting to assess profitability at the job, customer, product, and geographical market levels.

    Prior to Ankura, Fernando was a Director at a national consulting firm. He has also served as VP of Finance for a public health care company.
