Senior Marketing & Business Development Executive

Jeffrey J. Berardi is the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer (CMCO) and a Senior Managing Director at Ankura, located in the Boston office. A member of the executive leadership team, Jeff brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing and business development strategy, focusing on building corporate brands as well as fostering and strengthening relationships both with existing and potential clients.

  • Experience

    As CMCO, Jeff leads a global team of marketing professionals who support Ankura’s operations in offices around the world. He oversees brand development, creative direction, strategic planning, marketing, and communications, among other areas.

    Prior to joining Ankura, Jeff served as the chief marketing officer for K&L Gates, an international corporate law firm with 45 offices on five continents. Jeff personally directed the launch of the K&L Gates brand in 2007, which quickly grew to become a top 20 global law firm brand under Jeff’s oversight. While at K&L Gates, Jeff was responsible for managing marketing, business development, and sales, leading a team of nearly 100 professionals. Jeff was heavily involved in seven significant mergers and dozens of domestic and international office openings during his tenure at K&L Gates, frequently integrating people and brands as part of the law firm combination process. He is also a certified GrowBIG® sales training facilitator and a certified HBDI® trainer.

    Jeff is a regular speaker at industry conferences and has been interviewed by and contributed to various publications, including a February 2018 article published in The American Lawyer, quotes featured in a 2019 book entitled Best Practices in Law Firm Business Development and Marketing, and chapters contributed in the Inside the Minds series published by Thomson Reuters. In 2011, Jeff was recognized as the international “Marketing Professional of the Year” during the Hildebrandt Institute’s 18th Annual Marketing Partner Forum, an award that celebrates the most innovative marketing professionals.  Beyond his professional work, Jeff serves as a Seven Generations Board Member for the international nonprofit organization, City Year, Inc. and has previously served as a member of the Thomson Reuters Marketing Leadership Council, the Global Editorial Advisory board for Managing Partner Magazine, and as a Governing Body member of the CMO Collective (NY Chapter).
