Ryan Meade is a Senior Managing Director at Ankura focused on corporate compliance matters, principally in the arena of clinical research billing, Medicare/Medicaid, privacy, internal investigations, and compliance program reviews. He is based in Chicago.
Ryan has assisted major academic medical centers and health systems in working through the complexities of clinical research billing compliance and operational challenges. He has been working with compliance programs for over 20 years and represented healthcare organization compliance programs from nearly every sector of the industry. He has served on independent review organization teams for clients under corporate integrity agreements and helped negotiate numerous settlements with the United States government. He has significant experience with internal investigations, self-disclosures to government oversight agencies, and compliance auditing.
As a law professor at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Ryan directs the Regulatory Compliance Studies Program in the Center for Compliance Studies, which has over 200 students enrolled in graduate courses focused on corporate compliance and regulatory issues and administrative law topics. He also is editor-in-chief of the Loyola Journal of Regulatory Compliance and co-host of the monthly news webinar “The Compliance Round-Up.”
Ryan is a member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics, the Health Care Compliance Association, and numerous professional associations. He is a principal Compliance Certification Board exam writer for both Healthcare Compliance and Healthcare Research Compliance certification. He is a recognized thought leader in compliance and the role of law in society, and has delivered numerous academic lectures on the topics at the University of Oxford, Harvard Law School, University of Warsaw, Boston University, University of Missouri School of Law, St. Louis University, and many other universities and academic centers.
