Alistair Dick is a Senior Managing Director at Ankura based in London. He has more than 25 years of experience in investment banking and consulting, including over 15 years advising boards, management teams, lenders, and other stakeholders in raising and restructuring debt facilities. He specializes in complex, large, cross-border restructurings and has extensive experience in the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

Experience

Prior to joining Ankura, Alistair was a partner at a Big 4 firm, leading its corporate financial restructuring team in the UK. He was also head of restructuring and debt advisory in Australia and Southeast Asia for a leading global investment bank, having previously been a senior member of the European restructuring advisory team.

Alistair has worked extensively with management teams and boards of listed and private companies on raising and restructuring their debt, and advising other stakeholders, such as secured lenders, bondholders, trustees, shareholders, and government entities. He has lived and worked around the world, and led large, international teams delivering complex restructurings.

Alistair has worked across a wide range of sectors including real estate, retail, mining, oil and gas, media and telecoms, business services, construction, transport, industrials, and chemicals.

Alistair’s professional experience includes:

  • Advising a listed real estate company in the UK on restructuring £5 billion of debt across 14 separate facilities, including CMBS, secured debt, bonds, and convertible debt.
  • Advising a listed business services and construction company in the UK on restructuring over £1 billion of debt, including bank debt, private placements, and bonding facilities, and raising new facilities.
  • Advising a European private equity-owned industrials business on restructuring its debt facilities and raising new equity.
  • Advising a listed oil and gas company in the UK on restructuring its bond facilities.
  • Advising a credit fund on acquiring a portfolio of stressed and distressed debt across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Advising an Australian listed infrastructure company on restructuring its debt facilities.
  • Advising a secured debt trustee on carrying out its duties on a European security enforcement.
  • Advising a South African listed retailer on the acquisition financing (debt and equity) to acquire a major Australian retail business.
  • Advising a privately owned Nigerian telecoms company on restructuring its debt facilities.
  • Advising an Australian listed mining company on restructuring and refinancing its debt facilities.
  • Advising the bondholders of an Australian listed mining company on a debt restructuring and equitization.
  • Advising the secured lenders to an Australian private equity owned media company on the restructuring and equitization of its debt facilities.
