Ashleigh Wessing

Ashleigh focuses on assisting management to address their operational and internal control challenges, specifically regarding capabilities of people, efficiency of processes, and assessment of fraud risk. She also provides technical accounting support on topics such as business combinations, lease accounting, and revenue recognition. She has experience in many industries, including advertising, software, healthcare, and professional services.

Ashleigh’s broad range of experience includes:

• Assisting a private-equity backed SaaS company with the ground-up scrub of its new acquisition to establish scalable processes and to prepare for the external audit; corrected historical revenue recognition, coordinated the investigation of open customer receivables between accounting and customer account management, oversaw set-up of the monthly close process, and cleaned up the entity’s conversion to the NetSuite ERP.
• Supporting corporations and private-equity backed middle-market entities through their transition to ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Operationalizing purchase accounting under U.S. GAAP for a platform acquisition and subsidiary acquisitions at a mid-market SaaS company.
• Developing the future state design for a mid-market healthcare company to transition its seven processing units to a centralized procure-to-pay function in preparation for acquisition.
• Preparing post-acquisition roadmaps for the CFOs of private equity-backed companies to improve efficiency and scalability of the finance and accounting function.

Prior to joining Ankura, Ashleigh worked in private equity advisory with a national consulting firm.  At a previous firm, Ashleigh consulted on financial statement fraud investigations and provided litigation support for large plaintiff law firms.  Ashleigh began her career in external audit with a Big Four accounting firm, and in internal audit with a multi-national conglomerate.
