Austin Briggs is a Senior Director at Ankura, where he advises financial services, fintech, and digital asset clients on complex state licensing and regulatory matters. He brings over eight years of professional experience in the financial services and licensing space, with deep expertise in license acquisition, regulatory compliance, and ongoing licensing maintenance. Austin leads and oversees high‑complexity licensing engagements across multiple jurisdictions, serving as the primary point of contact for senior‑level clients. He is responsible for engagement planning, scoping, budgeting, resource allocation, and execution, and currently leads multiple complex licensing projects.
Experience
In addition to client delivery, Austin is actively involved in firm leadership and innovation. He served on Ankura’s Consultant Engagement Council (CEC) during 2025 and 2026, contributing guidance, feedback, and strategic insight to firm leadership. He currently serves as a Co‑Chair of Ankura’s AI Champion committee, supporting the firm’s responsible adoption of AI, internal enablement, and alignment with Ankura’s broader growth strategy. Austin is also engaged in industry organizations, including the Money Services Business Association, and supports initiatives related to banking partnerships and regulatory strategy.
Prior to joining Ankura, Austin served as a Licensing Supervisor at Evergreen Home Loans, where he managed the company’s state licensing portfolio. His responsibilities included overseeing and maintaining more than 600 individual mortgage loan originator licenses, 200 branch licenses, and 15 company licenses, as well as supervising licensing specialists, assigning daily tasks, and providing training and guidance.
