Cecil started his career specializing in IT systems support in the banking, insurance, and education industries. He has been working in e-discovery and litigation support for over 10 years, at Big 4 firms and boutique consultancy firms. He has experience managing large e-discovery projects covering data collection, data processing, review management, and digital forensic investigations.

Cecil has worked for a wide range of clients and industries including construction, financial services, manufacturing, tobacco, and telecoms. He has assisted on investigations involving suspected fraud in cartel activities, alleged bribery and corruption, and IP theft, where he had to report to regulators such as the U.S. Department of Justice on e-discovery processes.

Examples of Cecil’s professional experience include:

• Coordinating cross-border data collection activities in the UK, South Africa, Eastern Central Africa, Far East, and Central America for a multinational client. This involved cloud collections, mobile device extractions, network, legacy data, and onsite deployment of data processing.
• Monitoring the IT hold separate measures on the Syniverse/MACH merger remedies case and monitoring the post-closing obligations of data migration.
• Advising on a disputes matter for a multinational investment bank on the design and implementation of e-discovery workflows and the application of technology to improve efficiency in document review. This included the use of analytics and Technology Assisted Review, effectively reducing the document population for review.
• Utilizing index engines on a bribery and corruption investigation to search and extract data from legacy back-up tapes.
• Managing a document review in a class action lawsuit against a major European truck manufacturer for price fixing. Assisted in setting up a claims management database using Relativity that was used to manage claims brought against the client.
