Chris Petrucka is a Senior Director at Ankura, based in Nashville. He has more than a decade of experience leading business and operational process improvement initiatives. Experience
Prior to Ankura, Chris led an expansion initiative for a microfinance bank in Rwanda and served in the office of development finance at the US State Department. He also led process optimization efforts as a business analyst for a multinational medical device company. Chris’ professional experience includes:
- Agile Transformation for Software Development Teams: Managed the IT Agile Transformation initiative for a multinational automotive corporation, transitioning the company’s software development teams from a waterfall approach to Agile Scrum. Served as Scrum Master for a pilot scrum team supporting the warehouse management system for aftersales parts and delivering software enhancements. Provided IT senior management with recommendations for effective Agile adoption across the corporate IT organization.
- Business & Operational Process Optimization: Observed, documented, analyzed warehouse and supply chain operations to determine the root cause of declining fill rate for export customers. Spent time on multiple warehouse floors to observe operations and interview managers and operators to identify pain points and inefficiencies in the process. Created detailed current state and future state process maps and presented findings and recommendations to senior management. Implementation of recommended solutions resulted in full recovery of key performance metrics.
- Post-Merger Corporate Integration: Led the corporate integration initiative for two hospital management companies following a private equity-driven merger. Managed a team of consultants to create project plans for integration activities across 12 corporate functional areas. Facilitated strategic planning sessions with the legacy executive teams to drive the decision-making process for forming a unified go-forward corporate strategy. Identified change management requirements and created phased implementation plans to minimize disruption to business and corporate operations.
- Program Management & Internal Audit: Implemented a comprehensive End of Life (EoL) technology management process for a multinational investment bank. Coordinated efforts across eight lines of business to ensure the successful implementation of processes and governance to mitigate the risk associated with EoL components and applications operating within the bank. Presented status updates and evidence of the sustainability of the EoL process to internal senior management and external regulatory boards, including the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Led meetings between IT management, risk, and audit to achieve the highest possible internal audit rating.
- Organizational Performance & Design: Managed the organizational redesign initiative for the IT department of a multibillion-dollar retail corporation to allow IT to effectively scale with the future growth of the company. Facilitated strategic planning sessions between IT and business stakeholders to create a timeboxed plan for the implementation of department scalability measures.
- Strategic Planning: Developed a comprehensive strategy for a microfinance bank to implement an agent banking network in rural Africa. Analyzed bank customer data, conducted informational interviews with bank personnel, and researched industry best practices to create a methodology for recruiting agents and implementing the network strategy. Conducted field work in rural villages by scouting potential agent locations and interviewing business owners through a translator.
- Lean Process Improvement: Led lean improvement projects to reduce cycle time and cost of supply process within a multinational medical device corporation. Analyzed process flows within and between different business units to understand the various business requirements and create appropriate reporting applications. Conducted root cause analysis, data mining, and process mapping to determine weaknesses in business unit operations. Presented analytical findings to sales operations management and provided value-added recommendations to improve financial performance.
