Hakan Özbek

In his role as a forensic technology expert, Hakan has been involved in many complex cross-border matters, including compliance violations, white-collar crime investigations, arbitrations, litigation and dispute resolutions, anti-trust lawsuits, data breaches, intellectual property violations, product liability, and cyber incident readiness and response cases.

He has led and delivered several cross-border and German investigations covering digital forensics, e-discovery, and forensic data analytics to uncover issues such as fraud, bribery and corruption, data/IP theft, corporate espionage, and other areas of crime and misconduct.

Hakan has a keen interest in offering best executions for clients with state-of-the-art forensic technology solutions under consideration of data laws and other relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, in particular those of the European Union.

In numerous projects, he has worked closely with internal stakeholders, external legal counsel, law enforcement agencies, and vendor community, managing technology challenges and balancing various interests.

Hakan is an active certified fraud examiner of the ACFE and has been for the past two decades. He has testified in the German court as an expert witness in digital forensics on matters related to internal investigations, data theft, and unauthorized data disclosure.

In addition to his technical expertise, Hakan is a successful audit manager for global fraud and compliance audits in the financial sector.
