Paul Huettner is a Senior Director at Ankura based in Chicago. With over 10 years of experience in the restructuring industry, he provides financial advisory services with a focus on corporate restructuring, financial analysis, and valuation.

Experience

Paul has advised on development and execution of business plans, provided support in various interim management roles, and conducted extensive operational and financial analysis. Prior to joining Ankura, he worked at an investment bank and consulting firm, providing financial advisory services to various clients in both in- and out-of-court restructurings. He consulted for clients involved in bankruptcy, fraudulent transfer, and intercreditor disputes.

Paul’s professional experience includes:

  • Advised secured ABL lenders in the TPC Group Inc. Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The petrochemical supplier refinanced the pre-petition ABL lenders as part of the debtor-in-possession funding, resulting in a payment in full of the over $100 million pre-petition ABL.
  • Advised Aztec Events & Tents and Shaffer Sports, a key supplier to the PGA Tour and the largest tent and event rental provider in Houston, Texas, in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy as well as through the restructuring and 363 sale process. The company was sold to an investor group led by Arena Events Group, Summit Investment Management, and affiliates of American General Life Insurance Company in an auction process.
  • Served as financial advisor to the debtors in the Hollander Sleep Products Chapter 11 bankruptcy, with the firm serving as interim CEO, CRO, and CFO. Advised the company, one of the largest domestic pillow manufacturers, through the reorganization and sale of Hollander to an affiliate of Centre Lane Partners in an auction.
  • Advised a Houston, Texas based service provider to the oil and gas industry through an out-of-court refinancing and developed in-depth financial modeling for the operations and finances of the business.
  • Served as financial advisor to the debtors in the Overseas Shipholding Group Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Developed debtor-in-possession budget and long-term financial model for one of the world’s largest crude oil transporters. Advised the company through a very successful bankruptcy process which resulted in settling charges with the Securities and Exchange Commission related to $500 million in previously unreported tax liabilities, refinancing outstanding debt, and allowed all secured and unsecured claims to be paid in full.
  • Advised Independent Director of Geoffrey, LLC in the Toys “R” Us Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The intellectual property holding company of Toys “R” Us sold substantially all its assets to a group of investors led by Geoffrey, LLC’s secured lenders.
