Grant Gochenauer is a Managing Director at Ankura, specializing in construction disputes and advisory, and a strategic advisor with 20 years of experience improving the way clients plan, govern, and deliver capital projects. He partners with owners, lenders, developers, and contractors in highly regulated and complex sectors — including energy, infrastructure, life sciences, and hospitality — to enhance project delivery, strengthen business controls, and improve financial and operational performance.

Experience

Grant leads clients through the full capital project lifecycle — from feasibility and budgeting through execution and closeout — ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. He has managed large‑scale greenfield developments, complex renovations, and multi‑site programs, creating value through robust cost management, contract negotiation, schedule oversight, and resource planning, as well as independent cost validation, contract compliance reviews, and risk management to identify and address issues before they impact project outcomes.

Grant designs and refines business controls that promote cost certainty, effective resource utilization, and reduced financial exposure. His approach to process standardization, cost management, productivity analysis, and change management delivers more predictable results in complex project environments, and he builds governance frameworks and cross‑functional teams that embed best‑in‑class controls into day‑to‑day operations, enabling clearer communication, better decision‑making, and sustainable performance improvements for executive stakeholders and project sponsors.

Grant collaborates closely with clients to diagnose needs at both the enterprise and project levels and to design practical solutions. His experience spans estimating and budgeting, contract negotiations, procurement, cost management, contract compliance, resource planning, productivity analysis, cost reporting, change management, and scheduling, supported by deep familiarity with construction documents, plans, and specifications.
